Burt did a basement family room remodel in our mid-century home several years ago. The project had been started by another contractor but we hired Burt to complete the work. We were delighted with the outcome. Burt was a pleasure to work with. He is a skilled craftsman, gave us excellent advice at a very reasonable price with a great result. Cornwall Construction did our kitchen remodel, worked on our bathrooms and did lighting upgrades. We did these projects all at once. Burt did a great job, showed up on time, and kept the work site clean. He was also able to communicate well with the other workers. I have known Burt and his work for 15 years. If I have a problem Burt has always had an answer, usually more than one. His strong point is that he not only knows what to do but how to do it and most importantly does it himself. A rare combination, experience PLUS. Burt Cornwall has provided superior customer service and craftsmanship on two different jobs my family has hired him for in the last few years. I share the positive comments expressed by the other reviewers.. In 2007, Burt Cornwall performed a major kitchen remodel for our house in Seattle. This back-to-the-studs job was the largest my wife and I had experienced. Burt provided excellent suggestions and performed meticulous craftsmanship. Burton Cornwall of Cornwall Construction did a complete kitchen and bath remodel for us in 2004. He is detail oriented, has outstanding sub contractors and completed our job in a timely manner. Burton was easy to communicate with, anticipated issues that I never would have, and went above and beyond when it came to keeping the house livable for my family, during the construction process. We were introduced to Burt by a cabinet maker that we selected for our 'down to the studs' kitchen remodel: new cabinets, appliances, countertops, electrical upgrade, etc. While we initially thought that we would act as our own general contractor, after discussing the scope of the job and meeting with Burt we decided that a better course of action was to hire Burt as the general contractor.
We did not regret our decision. Burt was methodical and thorough in his approach to the project and its execution. He was excellent at keeping us informed of the progress and the issues that we needed to address along the way - greatly limited the 'surprises' that can creep into these remodel projects.
He was easy to have in our home, courteous to all that live here as well as our guests. We particularly enjoyed the quality of the sub-contractors that he brought to the project - not only were they technically competent they were also pleasant people to have in our home. It is doubtful that we would have found these contractors on our own or that they would have worked a project without a general contractor. We also believe that Burt did a good job keeping our interests in mind as he supervised/worked alongside the subs.
We were so pleased with Burt's work,our working relationship/communication with him that after a short break we hired him to do a complete remodel of our master bath.
At all stages of his work, we liked the way he anticipated problems, found efficient solutions, and kept us informed. When he needed to be away from the project for a day or more, it was always discussed ahead of time...we never had to deal with 'I wonder if he's coming today' issues that you hear from friends that have undertaken similar projects.

Burt Cornwall has done two kitchen remodels for us. One involved rebuilding the entire kitchen and a major part of the home. The other consisted of installing granite counters and other features in the kitchen of another home. Mr. Cornwall proved to be a very careful, compulsive, extremely competent contractor. His work is beautiful. He communicates very well and is an exceptionally friendly person.
